Instead of going through the challenge of designing something yourself, would you rather pay someone else to do it?

If it is beyond my skills, yes. But I will try my best to crack it first.

Since I'm not technically inclined, I would have to pay someone to do graphics, designs, etc. If I wasn't on Proboards, which is self-explanatory, I'd have to have someone help me with the behind the scenes of running a forum as it's over my head.

ProBoards is a good thing for that IMO.

If you don't want the hassles of maintaining a forum yourself, stick with a host like that, as long as you're fine with always staying or the risks that come with rented space.

Yeah, Proboards & other free platforms are great for beginners to get their feet wet. I've made several friends who said they'd help me if I moved over. I'm honestly NOT fine staying lol I just would have to start over as Proboards doesn't allow you to migrate. I'm hoping, very soon, they would change that stance.

Years ago when we were using Invisionfree/zetaboards, there was a huge community on theme creators who would give them out for free as long as they were mentioned in the footer, it was great. Now we're on invisioncommunity, I'd have to buy some from the marketplace or source somebody independent to do it. I don't have the skills, unfortunately.

Good times. Seeing your skins being used with a little copyright.

That must have been a proud moment if you came across a forum which was using a theme you built from scratch! There was some very talented creators on there. Such a sad thing that its no longer with us!

Couldn't agree more with you. Such a valuable community. Any past usernames on the network? I don't recognize your username.
