Why would you start a message forum?

I start message forums because I love to meet others who enjoy the things that I do. I only start forums around topics that I love and am passionate about.

How about you?
 
Being able to meet new people & make friends. Plus there's just something about having your own forum where you can make your own rules & customize it to how you like it.
