Do you send weekly "what's new" emails to your forum members?

Doing this could remind them that the forum is there and for them to come back and visit.

You could let the system send the default emails which might get marked as spam by the member or unsubscribed from.

Or you could customize them and sent them on your own with exclusive content that they will only find in the email newsletter. That would increase your chances of retaining subscribers.

Do you practice this marketing method or do you think it's a good idea?

Why or why not?

No, most of it will end up in spam if we do weekly stuff. Monthly or bimonthly make sense. Not annoying and will have more content to showcase.

Spam if it's just default.

But I get a daily newsletter called the Hustle and it's packed full of goodies.

In fact, I subscribe to several daily newsletters.

If you planned right, you could easily create a weekly newsletter that would be information packed and encouraging to visit the forum.

Of course always with the ability to unsubscribe
