Recommended Forum Directory?

So over the last few days on here I've heard a few posts regarding forum directories and how they can be positive. Does anybody know of any which they've used and have had positive results from?

I would only recommend top sites like @aerodynamic runs that is specific to forums or a forum directory that is attached to a forum.

Standalone directory sites typically do more harm for SEO than good.

And no one is using them anymore.

DMOZ closed shop because everyone quit using it when search became the thing.

So, the value of their backlink capabilities have really decreased and now Google sees it as a way of cheating especially if you pay for the link to be "do follow". Google really hates that!!
