Limiting guest views would be a function of the forum that creates "gated content" after a non-logged-in visitor views so many amounts of content.

The idea of limiting guest views is to encourage guests to register or log in to see everything without limits.

Is this a practice that you practice on your forum? If yes, has it helped at all?

If you don't practice this, is there any particular reason why you don't?

I don’t limit the guest viewing other than a staff room .I think it tends to drive away possible members when they realize this or that is hidden .

I agree with this.

I think if you have a really big forum, it might work but not anything like this forum's size or around it.

But gated content still works enough that people are using it all the time. Just not on forums so much.
