As far as forum staff members go, how many staff members are too many staff members?

Do you follow any sort of forum member count to staff count ratio for adding to the staff team numbers?

Do you think too many staff members will scare members off or probably not phase anyone?

How often do you accept new staff members?

5 or 10% of active members at the most.

Too many cooks spoil the broth.

I think staff members are needed when it becomes too overwhelming for the forum owner.

If you're having to do more staff-related things during the day than actually keeping your forum active, then you need help.

But starting out with a #2 is always a good thing too, so that you can help keep the forum active.

The staff should be as small as possible without tasks being overwhelming. Too many staff members can cause problems, especially if there are few users to oversee.
