How do you define quality content?

Forum owners should be posting quality content on their communities to help lure in new activity.

We all have different views on what quality means.

I'd love to see your view.

How do you define quality content for your forum?

My definition of quality content is content that primarily draws in other members to discuss said subject and also generates guests to registered members. Quite plainly said, but that's about it.

A post that addresses the topic in an informative manner. Occasionally in long form content that attracts the attention of search engines.

Coming from my decades of blogging and message forum experience, I agree with the above statements: Content that is informative and brings engagement.

I don't think it always needs to be long-form, pending the situation.

I use a lot of short form content and have a lot of success with it. But in short-form, I'm targeting community rather than search. I'm going after a specific set of people.

But long form content is better for most circumstances in blogging.

This pretty much sums it up. The best content is something that brings discussion which contains different opinions.

I consider "quality" to be on topic, thought out, and contributing to the conversation. It makes you want to take part, because you're learning- about others, about the world, and about yourself. You know?

Engaging content is what I would call that and yeah, I totally agree with that.

I post one liners here and there but I try to post content that keeps the discussion going.

In the end, what would you rather have?

or...

1,000 topics with pages upon pages of great content that continues to be engaged in
