Social media and forums have a history.

Some forum owners feel like social media is what destroyed forums or at least made their decrease in popularity.

They may be right.

Some forum owners despise social media so much for ruining forum popularity that they refuse to use them for marketing their forum.

Are you one of these people? If you are, what exactly is your justification for not using social to market your forum?

If I knew the best way to do it, I'd happily do it but I don't know the first thing about grabbing peoples attention on social media. I'd probably have to pay somebody to do it.

I do not have anything against social media. I do use it to advertise my projects.

Yes, much better than organic traffic.

Just be careful with advertising.

Algorithms are designed to put less weight on external posts.

An external link takes people away from social media. That means no ad clicks for them. That means no money.

Try a 90/10 approach for the best results. 90% native content. 10% external promotional content.

You have to build a community on social to win with it these days.
