The forum newsletter feature on almost every platform is very basic. The functionality of it isn't made to be used as a newsletter service.

Most of the time, mass emails result in emails not being sent or emails that go to spam.

But newsletter services like Mail Chimp, Constant Contact, and Convert Kit are more likely to get your email into the inbox of your subscribers.

So, my idea is replace that forum newsletter with one of those.

What do you think about that? You could put in in the welcome PM for folks to subscribe and give them something free to subscribe.

I use Mail Chimp for another project. It's free and I think I can have 2,000 or so subscribers.

I think so because I hate receiving any "newsletters" and etc via email personally speaking TBH.

To be honest, most Discourse emails are reaching fine to my inbox. I would go with them on this.

Do you get access to the email list with Discourse, though?

I guess that could work as long as you have that access.

I'd hate to build a list and then lose that list for some reason.

I am not sure. Depends on how you collect the emails. There are many ways of doing it in Discourse.
